By Primo Galicia president and CEO, Whereas policies are set up for a particular function in a specific area, principles are guidelines from everyone and are foundational. Policies change when their use is no longer essential within the organization. We all need to put in place “PRINCIPLES” that do not change. Policies will change from time to time, Principles never do! Policies are many, Principal are few! Policies work well for lower management and operational matters at best. A policy should never be held on to and defended when it impedes the program and delay the change needed to make the progress. A policy’s intent is to give clear direction for all working in under it. It creates a better flow in the organization structure. The Basket Is Full, Inc principle is: “Always take the high road.” This principle means that whenever there is debate, questions, tension, or confrontation between, staff and people, I always expect my staff to give the benefit of the doubt to others. This principle is for everyone in my organization at all times. It may have nothing to do with an operational procedure with machines, coffee, shipments or paper, but it has everything to do with people. My suggestion to all Leaders is to – Model your company principles, relate them by answering the question, “How can I use this in my life now?” and applaud your staff when you see them applying them. One of my mottos is when in doubt, Call LEE DUNN! In our Lincoln facility and on our company phone we keep him on speed dial.

Hello Team Pur Java Supporters,
A person without experiences sees a vision idealistically. To this individual the vision alone is enough. Naively this person casts the vision to others, expecting the dream to do the work and failing to realize that a vision needs support. A person with experience learns that people buy into the leader before they buy into the vision. Experienced leaders realize that people are fickle and dreams are fragile. This experience had taught me these principles about vision: 1. The credibility of a vision is determined by the leader. 2. The acceptance of a vision is determined by the energy and direction it gives. 3. The evolution of a vision is determined by the commitment level of people 4. The success of a vision is determined by its ownership by both the leader and the people. I read a quote on Presidents Day by Leonard Lauder, president of Estee Lauder, that said, "When a person with experience meets a person with money, the person with experience will get the money. And the person with the money will get the experience." Today, as I sit in my home office, I pondered on Leonard Lauder’s quote. At this moment, and at this time, the lesson that I learned about failing to establish credibility of our vision is solely on me! We thank each one of you for sharing in this experience and for believing in us. Our story doesn't end here, we have new vendors and orders that we commited to filling. Even thought we didn't reach our $8,000 goal, we did received several e-mails through our purjava.com website from people who are interested in becoming a shareholder. We didn't expect that nor were we prepared to see the interest shifting towards equity. The biggest impact for me was to read your names, Antonio Riddick, Melinda, James Gates, Gavin McPherson, Dennis Mckenna, Andre Jones, Arturo Quezada, Carra McClelland, Salli Sternberg, Ken McConnell, Ana Maria Figuroa, Virgil and Tomeka Walker, Aaron Henderson, Alex Stephenson, Mr. Pacg We are still going to create the "Remember Me Board" and place everyone’s name on our facility east wall. We started off as three people who wanted to have a shared experience around a great cup of coffee. Now we have 15 Pur Java supporters who believe and went through this experience with us. When we have moments of doubt we will look at our east wall and see your names and know you are still believing in us. We also will provide you updates twice a year because our shared experiences don't have to end today. In May, we would like to ship each one of you a sample of our Pur Java liquid Concentrate or one of our single origin coffees of your choice. So please head to our website, then answer our survey question so we know were to ship your selection. Again, all of us here at The Basket is Full, Inc are so happy that we crossed each others paths and shared this experience together. Sincerely, Primo Galicia, president and CEO In this world of overwhelming number of brands, product reviews play an important role in purchase decision. Consumers: Every company advocates their product is the best. But in reality it is the consumer who can decide which product is better by using it. No one person can use all the products. This is where the product and services reviews come into play. Knowing the pros and cons of a particular product or service from the people who have experienced it first-hand, gives you the power to make informed decision for your purchase.
So, product reviewing is a tool that companies can use to make their product or service stand out in the market. Even if a potential customer is not looking for a review, there is a good chance he/she would stumble upon your product review. Buyers today go to the Internet to do the research for any product or service before they make a purchase. For this they use various search engines. These search engines provide a number of links for the keywords typed in and not just the product owner's website. Any of these websites may be a product reviews website, a personal blog or a public forum and have comments about your product. Any company would want the comments on these sites to be positive to build and maintain their reputation and also gain more customers. As a business, you may want to have a product reviews or testimonials section on your website. Don't be afraid of any negative review. If every review is positive, people might think the results are not authentic. Also, beware of harsh negative comments. Try to correct the error in the product or clarify the situation so that other customers and potential customers get your point of view as well when making the purchase decision. A Word of Caution: One should be careful in what websites you go to for a review. Do not trust just any website; check the authenticity of the reviews. Also, when you look at the rating be sure to see the number of respondents that gave the review. Sometimes you will notice that the rating is 100 percent and notice that only one person has put up the review. So, this is clearly not a very good rating system. Be careful on what you post on a review. Be civil in your conversation no matter how mad you are at the product owner. Be sure to write a good review for the products you love and genuinely feel may be good for everyone. Similarly, when you find a product that does not live up to its promised benefits make sure the world knows about it. In essence, product reviews are essential for both buyers and sellers. Product reviewing gives the power to make or break a deal. By Primo Galicia
Albert Einstein observed, "The problems we face today cannot be solved on the same level of thinking we were at when we created them." Look around and you'll see that is true. The world keeps getting more and more complicated. Does that discourage you? It Doesn't have to. Many years ago, I came across a quote that made a tremendous impression on me. Is said, I am your constant companion. I am your greatest helper or heaviest burden. I will push you onward or drag you down to failure. I am completely at your command. Half of the things you do you might just as well turn over to me and I will be able to do them quickly and correctly. I am easily managed - you must merely be firm with me. Show me exactly how you want something done and after a few lessons I will do it automatically. I am the servant of all great men; and alas, of all failures as well. Those who are great , I have made great. Those who are failures, I have made failures. I am not a machine, though I work wit all the precision of a machine plus intelligence of a man. You may run me for profit or run me for ruin - it makes no difference to me. Take me, train me, be firm with me, and I will place the world at your feet. Be easy with me and I will destroy you. Who am I? I am HABIT! Victor Hugo once said, "An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an invasion of Ideas." We must all understand the value of good thinking. |
