![]() I tell people, “Ninety-nine percent of everything in life I don’t need to know about.” I try to focus on the one percent that gives us the highest return. And of the remaining ninety-nine percent, Nancy keeps me aware of whatever I need to know. It’s one of the ways I keep from getting totally out of balance in my life. Being willing to give up some of the things you love in order to focus on what has the greatest impact isn’t an easy lesson to learn. One of the best ways to focus on the 1% that makes the biggest impact to your companies bottom line, is to cultivate a mind-set of thinking one size better. Let’s face it: most people dream to small. They don’t think big enough and selfish thinking will only allow them to remain insecure. Henry Curtis advises, “Make your plans as fantastic as you like, because twenty-five years from now, they will seem mediocre. Make your plans ten times as great as you first planned, and twenty-five years from now you will wonder why you did not make them fifty times as great. I just finished reading, “Built to Last” and the author mention that People need BHAGs – BIG HAIRY AUDACIOUS GOALS. I believe if you push yourself to dream more expansively, to imagine your organization one size bigger each month, then set a goal to get it there. I know that you will begin to move toward accomplishing more then you did the day before. You will be force to grow doesn’t matter what you are currently able to do, creativity can make you capable of much more. I will leave you with a quote that I believe will make you smile, “If it is true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the OTHERS here for?”
