Lincoln, NE June 18, 2020 (TBIF NEWSWIRE) – The Basket Is Full, Inc. (TBIF), a Midwest Natural Food Manufacturer; today issued the following opinion piece article: By Randy Olsen, Vice President of Operation for TBIF in Omaha and Iowa Store Locations.

Today I would like to discuss the earth mineral called calcium particularly, as it pertains to dairy products.

At an early age, I taught to drink lots of milk because that’s what my body needs to develop strong bones.  I was never a big fan of the taste of milk, yet I drank it because I was told it was good for me. As an adult, I used milk when I drank coffee and ate a bowl of cereal. I wondered how come I would continually consume a product I am not fond of throughout the years.

How come we drink a female cow lactate that was designed for calves to grow strong and healthy?  In my spare time, I started researching this topic for self-interest. I discovered that God provided me and everyone else foods that give us the proper amount of calcium we need to function throughout each day.

Here is the finding of my research and what green plants and fruits provide for our calcium needs each day.

Arugula
Okra
Mustard Greens
Collard Greens
Kale

The last two are my favorites:
Figs
Sesame seeds  ( I have substituted Tahini butter instead of peanut butter and love it ) 1 tablespoon has 88 mg of calcium, compared to 19 mg in a tablespoon of milk.

Look at some of the God-given alternatives to dairy.  I suggest you continue doing your own research like me. You might find other plants in nature that you can incorporate into your eating lifestyle choices. Have a PURJAVA day and a blessed week.
